If you’d like to get away from the city, have some fun, meet new people and develop your art, the Mitchell School of Arts at Bathurst is what you are looking for.

Held biannually in Bathurst, the Mitchell School of Arts is an incredibly valuable resource for the arts community across Australia. Organised by The Art Scene and set in the idyllic grounds of the Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, it boasts a choice of over 30 different workshops with a wide cast of tutors.

The styles taught range from both the traditional to contemporary in oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastels, mixed media, printmaking, drawing and much more! With classes suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced artists, there is sure to be something that you’ll love!

Due to the harsh climate of summer in the outback, Bunginderry Artist Camp opens its doors from 1 May – 30 September. Bookings are now being taken to explore our inspiring wide open vistas in 3 different ways – retreats, small groups with Annabel Tully or self-guided stay.

Where is Bunginderry? (pronounced Bung-in-derry)

Bunginderry Station is located in far south-west Queensland in the heart of the Channel Country, catchment to Lake Eyre. It borders the Grey Range to the east and the sand dunes to the west. It is an arid environment of outback Australia.

In the new year, blueBanksia will be expanding to include all art short courses, resources and events for visual arts, writing, music, digital media & production as well as theatre & drama.

Travel lightly with a sketchbook, watercolour travelling palette, black pen and a pencil. Holiday sketching combines a unique and enjoyable holiday with learning the art of pen and watercolour to record your visual memories.

Leonie Norton is a prominent botanical artist and highly experienced international tutor who has been taking overseas tours for many years. This is a wonderful way to travel, whether as a single or with a non participating partner, who will be well looked after as the group sketches.

Dedicated sketching stops morning and afternoon with individual attention and reviews ensure that each participant receives quality tuition. All skill levels are welcome. These limited number tours are not the traditional package tours, but more like travelling with a group of friends.
