Description

Boxes can be used to contain all sorts of things, like artists books, collections of objects, gifts, & thoughts. Over 2 days the participants will experiment with box construction techniques using a variety of materials & ways of embellishing the surfaces. This may include using handmade & commercial papers, mixed media & different surface finishes, relief & embossed surfaces, collage & modelling. Participants will be encouraged to adapt templates & box designs for individual purposes & expression, so that by the end of the weekend they will have a number of personal containers for their creative use.

Mixed media fibre artist Liz Powell uses her handmade paper as the basis of her work. She has been a practicing & exhibiting artist for over 20 years. www.textilesanyone.com.au
