Description
Quilt Artists often express a desire to learn more about the fundamentals of design. In this class we’ll put the FUN into fundamentals while exploring the design and emotional possibilities of line, colour, and value through engaging guided exercises. We will use art supplies with which fibre artists feel confident, including fabric, needle, thread, and fusible adhesives, along with basic supplies such as paper and glue– and we’ll throw in some surprising materials to mix it all up and keep you from getting too serious.
A renowned quilt artist teaches at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. She leads workshops and lectures, and writes about surface design and quilting in the US and abroad and is co-editor of SPEAKING IN CLOTH: 6 Quilters, 6 Voices. www.jdmeyer.com
