Description
20 February & 27 February 2012 10.00am — 1pm
From intaglio to relief - explore and be inspired by centuries’ old tradition in a contemporary way. New techniques are being developed from time to time, adding to the classical methods, one of which being solar plate etching.
In this relatively easy process, ultraviolet light (from the sun or a UV lamp) is used to “etch” an image - drawn, painted or photocopied by you on a transparency film – onto a light-sensitive polymer plate.
In this workshop the student, apart from learning this non-toxic process will also learn different colour printing techniques.
Tutor: Bernhardine Mueller studied painting at Meadowbank TAFE College and printmaking at the National Art School, Sydney where she gained her Diploma of Fine Art. Bernhardine has been teaching for over a decade and as a passionate printmaker, her enthusiasm for the process is infectious. She is an active member of the Sydney Printmakers, Open Bite Printmakers and the Australia Society of Miniature Art.
