Water Makes Colour: Still life, flowers and landscape with Sherrie Ehrlich
Start Date : 28 April 2012
End Date : 29 April 2012
Location :
139a Station Street Blackheath NSW 2785
Description
In a loose and gestural manner, both watercolour and mixed media will be used to explore landscape and still life in its most interesting forms. Students will be encouraged to work at their own pace with the aim of creative enjoyment.
Day 1
will begin with an informal discussion on the goals of each student within the course, before being presented with a variety of stimulating images for discussion. This will be followed by a series of quick warm up exercises to get the creative juices flowing. In a guided lesson on still life, students will learn to express impact using colour, texture and pattern both within the subject and in the background.
Day 2
will look at a contemporary use of colour within landscape. Students will be provided with a landscape image from which to begin painting. Here you will be encouraged to experiment with vivid colour to create dramatic mood and feeling, whilst challenging the traditional landscape.
